Kathy Jill Jenkins' Obituary
Kathy Jill Jenkins (McCoy), age 70 , formerly of Logan, WV lost her battle with Late Stages COPD on July 6, 2023 in Eustis, Florida. Kathy was born on January 27, 1953 in Logan, WV to Wilma Ruth (Patrick) Vanhorn and the late Charles James McCoy.
Kathy graduated from St Paul High School in VA and dedicated herself to care for other as a trained CNA. She work as a CNA and caregiver for 30 years. In the last half of her career she selflessly provided home care for those who needed it most.
Kathy enjoyed thrift store shopping and the search for a hidden gem at the antique stores and estate sales. Enjoyed having a great time with friends, family and children. Her greatest love and passion was for her daughters, families, and friends. Her passion for her loved ones was evident in how she lived her everyday life sharing each day with her mother and beloved dog, Teo. Kathy also enjoyed spending as much time as possible with all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews from her siblings. Kathy’s love for her family, her wonderful smile, and quick and direct humor was loved by all.
Kathy is survived by her mother Wilma Ruth (Patrick) Vanhorn of Eustis, Florida; her Life Partner: Terry Lee Simerly of Eustis, Florida; brother and sister in-law: Lonnie Michael McCoy and Janet McCoy of Anderson, South Carolina; brothers: Charles Kenneth McCoy of Walthourville, Georgia and Anthony Stephen McCoy of Bloomingdale, Georgia; her daughter Kimberly Dawn Kelley and son in-law Jesse Samuel Kelley of Webster, Florida and daughter Kelly Renee Robinette of Eustis, Florida. Her beloved grandchildren: William Ryan Wallace; Casey Brooke Hodges; Kala Brook Mason; Kristen Breanna Altman; Dillon Tracy Mason; Ashley Saegan Finch; Morgan McKenzie Mason; and Jesse Samuel Kelley Jr. Her great-grandchildren: Randall; Garrett; Bella; Hunter; Brooklyn; Keegan; Amelia; Savannah; Emma Leigh; and Ellie Grace. She also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions made to your local Hospice or COPD foundations in honor of Kathy.
