Judith A. Schwarz of Fruitland Park, FL, born 10/8/1939, passed away on July 2nd surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Sadie Johnson, her brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Barbara Price, her husband, Ed Schwarz, and her daughter, Cora Jean “CJ” Case.
She was survived by her brothers, Tom Johnson (Ruth) of Pachuta, MS and Bob Johnson (Cora) of Schaumburg, IL. Son, Robert (Lorraine) Schwarz of Ishpeming, MI. “Son Walt” Niehus of Fruitland Park, FL. Grandsons, Jamie Case (Katie) of Tavares, FL and Jacob Case of Fruitland Park, FL. Great grandsons, Michael Case (Briana Johnson) of Indianapolis, IN, Richard Case of Indianapolis, IN, Mathew Albert of Ramstein AFB, Germany, and Callum Case of Tavares, FL. Great granddaughters, Sadie Case of Fruitland Park, FL and Ayribella Case of Tavares, FL. Her special “bonus daughter”, Kim Darnell of Howey in the Hills, FL.
As the matriarch of her family, family was everything to her. She was married to the love of her life, Ed, for 47 years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a dedicated patriot, a Hallmark Christmas Movie enthusiast, and a die-hard Michigan fan, a true Wolverine through and through. She enjoyed her morning coffee talks with “Son Walt”. She loved all things Disney. Going to the parks with Ed, her daughter CJ, and her grandchildren, were some of her happiest memories. After all, it’s the happiest place on earth. She was a joyful spirit who brought warmth and light to all who knew her. She was bright, funny, kind…and just a little bit sassy.
After retiring as an administrative assistant at a nuclear power plant in Michigan, she and Ed managed Safe-T-Storage in Minneola, Florida for seven years and then she went on to work as a legal assistant at Cauthen Oldham & Associates, P.A. alongside her daughter CJ in Tavares, Florida.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and an unwavering spirit.
A visitation will be held at Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares on Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Shiloh Municipal Cemetery, Fruitland Park, Florida. The family has requested everyone wear bright colors, as Judie was not a fan of funeral black.
In lieu of flowers, Judie would like donations made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
