Joyce Edith Atkin, 100, of Tavares, Fl, passed away on October 19, 2024, in Umatilla, FL. She was born on October 13, 1924, in London, England, to her parents, Arthur and Maud (Smith) Townsend. She emigrated to Canada and then moved to Ohio where she lived for fifty years before moving to Florida. Joyce was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, gardening, and was highly skilled at knitting and crochet.
She is survived by her daughter Alison (Ronald) Horvath of Tavares, Florida, and her son, Nigel Atkin of Victoria, British Columbia; five grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Eric Atkin.
