Josephine Combs age 72 of Tavares, FL passed away Monday, September 30, 2024, in Orlando, FL. Josephine was born in Glade, West Virginia and moved to Tavares, FL in 2000 from Chicago, IL.
Josephine’s natural gift was serving and taking care of other people. She spent 20 years working as a Certified Nursing Assistant and took pride in serving her patients with dignity, respect and true compassion before her retirement. She enjoyed spending her time out in her garden taking care of her flowers and most of all her grandson Jace. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years Edmond, her parents Verland and Pauline Smith and her brother Ronald. She leaves behind her daughters Colleen (Jeff) and Carrie and grandson Jace. She was their nurse, teacher, babysitter and best friend. She was a loving sister and best friend to her sisters Wanda (Evert) Phillips, Margaret (Roy) Ward, and Barbara (Dale) Ward who will carry on her memory. Josephine leaves behind many family members that love her and miss her. A gathering with a viewing will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2024, from 12:00PM-1:00PM at Steverson Hamlin and Hilbish Chapel, a graveside service will follow at 2:00PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Gotha, FL.
