Joseph Paul Jessup's Obituary
Joseph Paul Jessup, Major (RET) US Army, of Tavares, FL passed away unexpectedly, on Monday, July 28, 2014 at the age of 45 years. He was born in Geneva, AL. Paul grew up in Greenwood, IN and graduated from Center Grove High School, Class of 1986. Paul served 26 years and recently retired from the US Army with the rank of Major. He served in Afghanistan in 2009. Paul last worked as a Logistics Officer at the Pentagon. He moved to Tavares in January 2014. He loved to help out the Tavares High School Football team and at Tavares Youth Football. He was looking forward to be able to assist with coaching. Paul was the biggest Alabama Crimson Tide Football fan on earth. Other than his family, they were the most important thing ever. He was a fanatic. More than anything, he loved to spend time with his wife and children. Paul was always there for his family, especially his children as they grew up. He loved being with them. He is remembered and will be dearly missed by his wife of 17 ½ years, Tracie; daughter, Kayla Ann Jessup (Keith Emberton) of Greenwood, IN and grandson, Kason Lee Emberton; sons, Jacob Paul Jessup and Joseph Allen Jessup, both of Tavares; parents, Col. (RET) Gregory A. and Sue Jessup of Greenwood, IN; brother, Benjamin Tyler (Erin) Jessup of Avon, IN; sisters, Molly Beeson (Thomas) Nunemaker of Bremen, IN and Savannah (Wesley) Mattocks of Indianapolis, IN; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Janet Walker of Tavares; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Florida Services - Family and friends are invited to gather for viewing on Friday, August 1st from 2:00 – 3:00 pm with a funeral ceremony starting at 3:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church of Tavares.
Indiana Services - A Memorial Ceremony will be held on Friday, August 8th at 11:00 am at the Meridian Church of God, 7800 S. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46217 - www.MeridianChurchofGod.org
