John William Yaussy's Obituary
John William Yaussy, 84, of Tavares, Fl, formerly of Wellsburg, WV, passed away at home peacefully on April 9, 2026.
John was born on July 29th, 1941 to the late William Yaussy and Madeline (Smith) Yaussy in Wellsburg, WV.
John Graduated Wellsburg High School, Class of 1959, and after graduating John joined the United States Army, being stationed at Fort Knox Kentucky. John Was part of the 101st Armored Division, 160th Engineering Group, and was a photographer reaching the rank of SP-4.
Upon discharge from the Army, John was a Photographer for Gruber Studios in Wheeling, WV, and then embarked on his career in Waste Water and Water Treatment. John worked for the city of Wellsburg in the Water Treatment Plant and in the late 1970's oversaw the installation of the Sewer Lines and the construction and start up of the Wellsburg Waster Water Treatment Plant as the Chief Operator. John finished his career at Walt Disney Worlds Reedy Creek Energy Services as the Lab Technician at the Waste Water Treatment Plant, retiring in 2007.
Along with his Mother and Father, John was preceded in death by his sisters Patricia (Red) Davis, Carolyn (Steve) Serevicz, and Susan DeGarmo, as well as his brothers Robert (Kay) Yaussy, and David Yaussy.
John is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sharon Landers Yaussy of Tavares, a son Dale and very special Daughter In Law Barbara Yaussy of Leesburg Fl, 4 Grandchildren, GySgt Dale (Dawn) Yaussy Jr of Jacksonville, NC, Tom (Isabella) Yaussy of Bradford Woods, PA, Stephanie Silver of Follansbee, WV, and Lacey (Kevin) Van Fossan of Weirton, WV, 5 Great Grandchildren Callan Sanders, Emma, Greyson, and Harper Van Fossan, and Weston Yaussy, Special Care Nieces Sherry Roberts and Deb (Duane) Bossman, Special Care Nephew Merv (Amy) Davis, and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
John adored and loved his wife Sharon, had a lifelong love of Photography, and loved his Facebook.
John was also the President of the Washington Pike Youth Baseball League from the mid 1970's into the very early 1980's, and coached the Cardinals, winning 4 Championships while coaching.
Interment arrangements will be provided by Steverson,Hamlin, and Hilbish Funeral Home of Tavares.
There will be no Services at the families request.
