My heart is heavy with sadness to learn of John's passing.
I had always hoped to reconnect with him over the past several decades and reminisce about the outrageous times we had in our youth.
Everything from harassing the hippopotamus from the riverbank by imitating their calls, to scaring the Daylights out of the Africans buy swimming across the Chinko River ... I knew we could swim across faster than the BOK.
We could also recount our blessings for dodging the fish eagles or the rogue elephant that night on the soccer field.
There are so many Fantastic memories that we once shared...
John...
You will be forever missed.
John you were always more of a brother to me than my own. Thank you for taking me in as your "sis" and my 2 kids as Kayla was your niece and Chris as your nephew. We ALL had some awesome times together. We will never ever forget you, which was always your saying. "When I'm gone NO ONE will ever forget me" you are 100% correct bro!! ;-)
He was my soul mate! He was the type of person to do anything for you off he could! He loved me and my son very much! My son wasn't his biological son but he was his dad! He was a good father. And a good husband! Love John! Forever! And always!
John was my big brother. My best memory of him was in our early years in Africa. We would hunt with a sling shot made of rubber from old tires. He would carve the handles and make one for his "sis". Then he would carefully choose the stones that would shoot straight. He loved being outdoors and we would have to search to find him when it was time for supper! Even though life took us in separate directions, he will be remembered always. Kathleen
