John Joseph Rush, age 70, of Tavares passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016. He was born May 11, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA and moved to Lake County in 2006. He was a retired sales driver for Wonder Bread and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam. He attended St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mt. Dora and was a member of the Royal Harbor Veterans Club, V.F.W., and D.A.V. He is survived by his wife, Marcia Rush of Tavares, FL; mother, Anna L. Rush of Pittsburg, PA; son, John Jeffrey Rush of Glendale, CA; step-son, Bryan Vasbinder of Pittsburgh, PA, daughter, Jodi Rush of Pittsburgh, PA; brothers, Bob Rush of Pittsburgh, PA, Rich Rush of Pittsburgh, PA, Ray Rush of Cincinnati, OH; sister, Anna McDowell of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Zachary Vasbinder, Haley Vasbinder, Catarina Rush, and Esmeralda Rush. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 26, 2016 from 2:00PM until 4:00PM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December, 27, 2016 at 11:00AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mt. Dora.
