John “ROSS” Polson, 75 of Tavares Florida, formerly of Glasgow Scotland, passed away unexpectedly 03 February 2015.
A memorial ceremony celebrating Ross’ life will be conducted by Reverend Dr. T. Weikel, 07 February 2015 at 3:00pm at the Steverson, Hamlin and Hilbish funeral home. Visitation will be held one half-hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
Ross was born 19 April 1939 in Glasgow, Scotland to Joseph and Isobel (Campbell) Polson. He married Judith (Boggis) Polson 15 October 1966. Ross was first and foremost a loving and devoted husband and father, and upon the birth of his three grandchildren, a proud and caring grandfather affectionately known as “Poppa”. He spent his days following retirement from Campbell Soup after 42 years, embracing life, whether on the golf course, in the swimming pool, hunched over the local ping pong table, or sitting behind the wheel of his car driving North to visit his loving family. During his limited downtime he was an active community member and was dragged by his wife to every cruise, dance and dinner event possible!!!
Surviving are his loving wife Judith Polson of Tavares, FL, his daughter Clare (Polson) Williams (husband David) of Pennsylvania, his son Marcus Polson (wife Adele) of Washington DC, his beloved three grandchildren: Danielle and Kyle Polson, and Jessica Williams, and his loving sister, Irene (Polson) Frame of Glasgow, Scotland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated at the American Heart Association or the Eustis Elks Lodge #1578. Online condolences and memories can be shared with the family at on the tribute wall.
