John Henry Lindsey went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 26, 2020, at 3:54 AM
Mr. Lindsey was born on May 20, 1954, in Evergreen, Alabama. He was currently a resident of Eustis, Florida. Mr. Lindsey is survived by his wife Joy Lindsey and his children; Jared Lindsey and wife Lexi, Joseph Lindsey, Amanda Norman and husband Franklin, Angela Durbin; his grandchildren; Isaiah, Layla, Havyn, Haley and Christian; his siblings; Barbara Smith, Arbalia Williams and husband Ivory, Joycia Campbell, James Lindsey, Jr., and Lena Williams and husband Destry Williams. Mr. Lindsey was preceded in death by his father James Elvin Lindsey, Sr., his mother Lena Mae Roche, his brother Charles Lindsey and sister Gloria Lindsey.
Mr. Lindsey's ready smile, ability to make everyone laugh, his dedicated work ethic and his willingness to drop everything to help anyone that needed help won him the love and respect of everyone he met. John was always a committed husband and father to his family and many others throughout life. Most importantly, he was a devout follower of Christ, our Lord and Savior. He was a born-again Christian with all things made new.
There will be a celebration of John's life on Saturday, February 1, at Steverson, Hamlin and Hilbish Funeral Home, located 226 E. Burliegh Blvd., in Tavares, FLorida. There will be a gathering for friends and family from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, followed by the celebration at 4:00 PM.
Mr. Lindsey's funeral and burial will take place in Evergreen, Alabama, on February 8th at a time to be determined.
