John "Jack" Francis Harkins' Obituary
John “Jack” Francis Harkins, 92 of Tavares, FL went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 06, 2018. Jack was born on January 03, 1926 in Williamsport, PA to the late William and Rose Harkins. He and his wife Eloise moved to Tavares, FL from DeLand, FL in 2009. Jack was of the Catholic faith. Jack enlisted into the United States Navy on May 01, 1944 and fought for our grateful nation until he was honorably discharged on June 18, 1946.He was an active member of the Tavares Chamber of Commerce, he was also a member of SCORE of Central Florida where he helped many people in the community find jobs. And a proud member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 43 of Lake County FL. Jack married the love of his life Bertha “Eloise” Bohanan in 1949 in Williamsport, PA. He has been reunited with his loving wife of 69 years: Bertha “Eloise” Harkins who recently passed away on March 20, 2018; He is survived by his Dear Friends: David and Lynne Gray, of Springhill, FL.
