John J. Kornhaus' Obituary
Mr. John J. Kornhaus of Grand Island, Florida passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at the age of 82 years. He was born in Coplay, Pennsylvania and grew up in New York City. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. In 1952, John moved to Miami, Florida, where he lived for 20 years, relocating to central Florida in 1972. He was the owner operator of J&J Electric for 20 years. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Chapel in Tavares, Florida. John was a family man and loved his family dearly. He will be remembered by his wife of 60 years, Ethel; sons, John (Amy) Kornhaus of Eustis, FL, Richard (Leslie) Kornhaus of Tavares, Walter (Debra) Kornhaus of Winter Park, FL and Robert (Anna) Kornhaus of Clermont, FL; daughters, Debbie (Paul) Bleakney of Orlando, FL, Mary (Steve) Oliver of Eustis, Donna (Warren) Phillips of Eustis; sister, Anna Martin of Oviedo, FL; as well as 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Kitchen in 1985. The family invited friends to gather for viewing on Sunday, May 13th from 2:00 – 5:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Mass was held on Monday, May 14th, 2012, at 9:00AM at the All Saints Catholic Chapel in Tavares. Burial followed at Lakeside Memory Gardens in Eustis. Arrangements were entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, Tavares, FL. Condolences may be left for the family by signing the guestbook below.
