John E. Anderson's Obituary
Mr. John E. Anderson, of Tavares, passed away on May 3, 2009 at the age of 88 years. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 1, 1921 and was twin to his brother, Charles, who passed away several years previously. John served in the US Army in WWII in the Italian theatre and advanced rapidly as a leader of men. He was most proud of his Battlefield Commission to Lieutenant. After the war he married Helen Grawunde and moved to Novelty, OH, a suburb of Cleveland. John retired from Ohio Bell Co., a subsidiary of AT&T, as District Manager, a position he attained through hard work and dedication to a job he loved. His only daughter, Nancy Vitale, died in December 2003. John is survived by Helen, wife; step-son, LeeRoy Grawunde; granddaughter, Lindsay Korbonits and companion, Sibyl Green. A Memorial Service will be held today, Thursday, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares, FL.
