John Robert Barbic's Obituary
Jack Barbic, beloved husband and best friend of Jackie, went home to be with God on November 24, 2018. He left with a heart full of gratitude for his life and a readiness to join his HP.
John Robert Barbic was born on May 17, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio and was the son of John S. Barbic and Mary (Molnar) Barbic. He is survived by his wife Jacquelyn (Jackie) E. (Miller) Barbic of Leesburg, FL, his son John S. Barbic (Marta) of Superior, CO, his daughter Deborah A. Strominger (Kurt) of Jupiter, FL and his grandchildren Gabriella Marie Barbic and Christopher Adam Barbic. Jack is also survived by his brother William Barbic, his sister Mary Anne Barbic (Roger Fiordalisi), his brother-in-law Jeff Miller (Mary) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jack and Jackie were married for 59 years whose love story began at a Dairy Queen in Cleveland, took root in St. Louis, sprouted in Connecticut, matured in Jupiter and blossomed in Leesburg. Jackie describes Jack as the love of her life and Jack shared that Jackie was the only woman he ever loved. They enjoyed their family and friends and were happiest when traveling, especially in their motor home. Jack was a respected mechanical engineer at United Technologies Pratt & Whitney in CT and FL, devoted father, father-in-law and grandfather, avid gardener, car enthusiast and master of all things mechanical.
There will be a Celebration of Life Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish located at 226 E Burleigh Blvd, Tavares, FL where family and friends are encouraged to share a favorite memory of Jack. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to AA Intergroup at 2113 Citrus Blvd A, Leesburg, FL 34748.
