Joe V. Gast's Obituary
Joe V. Gast of Orlando passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the age of 93 years. He was born in Tavares and has lived in this area all of his life. Joe proudly served his country in the US Army in World War II. He served in the combat infantry in many campaigns throughout Europe and North Africa. Returning to the states, Joe worked as Vice President at Northwest Truck Parts, a military vehicle surplus company for over 30 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Joe enjoyed bowling but fishing was his passion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hope, in 1998. He is remembered and will be dearly missed by his son, Larry (Deborah) Gast of Titusville; daughter, Lori Beard (Jeff Harris) of Boulder, Colorado; two grandchildren, Jennifer Larsen of Austin, Texas and Brian Gast of Sarasota, Florida; and one great-grandchild, Chris Dellobunno of Jacksonville, Florida. Joe’s final resting place will be at Tavares Cemetery next to his wife and parents. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
