Joan Lou Latham's Obituary
Joan Lou Latham 80, of Tavares, FL went to be with The Lord on Tuesday December20, 2016. Joan was born on October 12, 1936 in Frankfort, IN to the Late Roy and Bessie Robbins. She moved to Mount Dora, FL in 1973 from Indianapolis, IN. Joan was an active member of Grace Bible Baptist Church, of Leesburg, FL. She enjoyed quilting with a group of ladies in Tavares, Golfing, and playing games of all kinds. Joan was a wonderful woman. She was caring, loving, funny, understanding, and always forgiving. She is predeceased by her first love of over 10 years: Harry Ennis; Her second love of 30 years: Freeman J. Latham; and Twin brother: Gene Robbins. The family finds great comfort in knowing that Joan is now reunited with her best friend and dear brother Gene. A big part of Joan was missing after the passing of her brother, Joan is now whole again. Joan is survived by her Son: Patrick (Kathi) Ennis, of Glendale, AZ; Daughters: Kelli (Edward) Dempsey, of Maryville, TN, Joni (Leoma) Wheelis, of Leesburg, FL, and Step-Daughter: Ginny Latham, of Hawaii; Brothers: George (Vera) Robbins, of Seymour, IN, and James (Wanda) Robbins, of Carmel, IN; Sister: Alice Locke, of Jacksonville, FL; Four grandchildren, Six Great-Grandchildren, and many Nieces and Nephews. Joan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed by many. A Celebration of life service will be held on Friday December 30, 2016 at 4:00PM at Grace Bible Baptist Church of Leesburg, FL located at: 1703 Lewis Rd, Leesburg, FL. Services have been entrusted to Steverson Hamlin and Hilbish Funerals and Cremations. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on line on the tribute wall.
