Joan S. Glodde's Obituary
Joan S. Roth Glodde, 86, of Tavares, FL, passed away on February 19, 2025. She was born on October 8, 1938, in Warren, Ohio, to Paul J. Roth and Maybell E. Rose. Joan raised her five children on the Westside of Youngstown before moving to McDonald, Ohio. After a 25-year career at General Motors in Lordstown, Joan retired in 2000. She then relocated to Florida with her husband, Bob, where she formed many lasting friendships.
A proud graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, Class of 1956, Joni was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Joni had many passions, including crafting, crocheting, and, most notably, genealogy. She deeply enjoyed sharing these interests with her family. In addition to these hobbies, Joni had a love for travel. She cherished exploring new places and capturing memories through photography. Her travels took her to Europe, many towns across the United States, and on several cruises, all of which she documented with great joy.
Joan was preceded in death by her father, Paul J. Roth; her mother, Maybell E. Rose; her daughter, Michele E. Chance; her son, Sergeant Michael P. Kunovich SJSO; and her brother, Paul Roth.
She leaves behind her husband, Robert A. Glodde; her children, Kathryn S. Joyce (David), Charles T. Kunovich, and Mary Jo Cusack (Jim); her son-in-law Joe Chance; her step-children, Bob Glodde (Donna), Suzy Pierce (Charlie), and Jeff Glodde (Terri); her siblings, Dianna White (Arthur), Patricia Marshall, and Mary Kay Karsti (Pete); her grandchildren, Brian Butch (Mary), Haley Ivany (Tom), Kelly Bowden (Beau), Abbey Kovac (Alec), Shannon Kohl, Joellin Betts (Kyle), Stephanie Kunovich, Chas Kunovich (Christina), Briana Kunovich, Shane Kunovich (Makaela), Jared Kunovich, Matthew Cusack, Shelby Cusack, Michael P. Kunovich Jr., and Maddox Kunovich; her step-grandchildren, Jonathan Glodde, Katelyn Glodde, Charlie Pierce, Bobby Pierce, and Samantha Glodde; 10 great-grandchildren; and several wonderful friends she had while living in Florida.
A service to honor and celebrate Joan’s life will take place at Lane Funeral Home in Austintown, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association in Joan’s memory.
