Jerry John Knighten's Obituary
Jerry John Knighten, age 81, of Astatula passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016. He was born May 30, 1934 in Ramer, AL and moved to Orlando in 1983 from CA and then to Astatula in 2004. He was a retired machinist and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in the Korean War. Jerry was a member of the Astatula Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman. He is survived by wife, Linda Knighten of Astatula, FL; sons, Jerry John Knighten, Jr. of Highland Home, AL, Robin Craig Knighten of Montgomery, AL, Terry Dale Knighten of Montgomery, AL, Rodger Todd Knighten of Orlando, FL; sister, Mary Thompson of Punta Gorda, FL, 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 1, 2016 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 11:00AM at Astatula Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Astatula Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, 226 E. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, FL 32778, (352)343-4444.
