Jean A. O'Brien's Obituary
Jean A. O’Brien, 97, of Leesburg, Florida, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2025.
Born in Homestead, Florida, Jean spent much of her life in the Miami area before moving to Fort Myers and eventually settling in Leesburg in 2000. She built a fulfilling career with Casual Corner clothing company, where she began as a sales associate and retired as a store manager in 1993 after more than 15 years of dedicated service.
Jean was a vibrant and devoted member of GraceWay Church in Leesburg. Her faith was central to her life, and she found great joy in her church family. She was actively involved in church activities and generously gave her time to assist in teaching classes, always eager to share her wisdom and warmth.
A woman of many talents, Jean had a deep love for gardening and found peace among her plants. She also enjoyed the quiet challenge of puzzles and expressed her creativity through poetry, arts and crafts, and beautifully handcrafted wreaths. Her artistic spirit and gentle heart touched all who knew her.
Jean was preceded in death by her beloved twin sister, JoAn Miller, who passed on November 11, 2023. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Susan Rubenstein of Greensboro, North Carolina; Debra O’Brien of Leesburg; and Richard (Charie) O’Brien of Port St. Lucie. She also leaves behind her cherished grandson, Jeff (Rosa) Rubenstein of Greensboro.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jean’s life on Tuesday, July 1, at GraceWay Church in Leesburg. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral ceremony at 11:00 AM. A committal service will take place at Lakeside Memory Gardens in Eustis immediately following the church service.
