James W. "Jim" LaRue's Obituary
Mr. James W. “Jim” LaRue of Scottish Highland, Leesburg, FL passed away on Monday, September 3, 2012 at the age of 88 years. He was born in Hayti, Missouri and moved to central Florida in 1983 from Michigan. Jim served his country in the US Army Air Force as a mechanic in WWII. He was an electrician and retired from Wayne County General Hospital near Detroit. Jim was a member of Lake Square Presbyterian Church in Leesburg. He was also a member of the Men’s Golf Association at the Mount Dora Golf Course. Besides his love for Golf, Jim was a former member of the Elks Lodge. In his younger days he was a HAM Radio operator and also coached little league for his children. He is remembered and will be dearly missed by his wife of 69 years, Maxine; sons, Terrill James LaRue and his wife, Lynn of Ormond Beach, FL and Richard D. LaRue of Edgewater, FL; daughter, Suzanne Espiritu and her husband, Ernie of Port Orange, FL; as well as 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to Lake Square Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 10200 Morningside Drive, Leesburg, FL 34788 or to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778. A Memorial ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 1:00PM at the Scottish Highlands Clubhouse. Arrangements are entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, Tavares, FL. Condolences and memories may be shared by signing the guestbook below.
