James Warren Mosier's Obituary
James W. Mosier, 83, passed away on May 14, 2022, surrounded by his loving family after a long and brave battle with cancer. He was born in Carthage, Indiana on February 6, 1939, to Ralph and Leone Powers Mosier.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Kathryn Morris Mosier; daughters Risa (Jeff) Jackson, Denise Nelis; grandson Jimmy (Apryl) Jackson, great grandkids Elizabeth and Matthew Jackson; sister Sheryl (Richard) Redfern. He also leaves behind his precious dog Peanut who was fiercely protective of her Daddy.
He graduated from Carthage High School in 1957, where he played basketball and baseball.
After high school, he worked at Container Corporation in Cincinnati, Ohio and Carthage, Indiana where his Dad worked.
He worked for over 30 years at Eli Lilly and Company in Greenfield and Indianapolis, Indiana where he worked in the laboratory as a Senior Technical Associate. Prior to his retirement he also worked as a security guard.
He was a volunteer fireman for the Carthage Volunteer Fire Department, including serving as Fire Chief, and received certification as an arson investigator for the state of Indiana.
He loved IU basketball and held season tickets for several years.
Jim was an avid gardener who loved to grow and share his vegetables. After moving to Florida in 2011, he became a Florida Master Gardener and loved teaching others how to grow vegetables.
Private services were held by the family.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
