Jim was not only my husband, he was my best friend, my confidant and my critic. I could trust him with all my insecurities and shortcomings. He was the love of my life and the joy of my existence. I miss him terribly now and always will. He suffered with ALS and then lung cancer with quiet dignity yet made jokes about his infirmities. He was an inspiration to many. His love for God was paramount and that love led others to Christ. He was the spiritual head of all our families. When he walked into heaven the angels sang "It is well with your soul" . Goodbye my love and rest now, free from pain, in paradise.

Linda....our thoughts, prayers and love are coming your way. Through his declining health Jim was a living example of his faith through a very trying time. His love of our Lord was very apparent whenever talking with Jim. We loved his sense of humor and straight forward manner,...always a joy to be around him, he will be missed.

We rejoice with you that he is home in heaven.

Just a few years after Jim and Linda Lou were married, my wife Linda and I moved here and joined the church where they were members. Their testimony as Christians was clear and fervent, and Jim (a faithful deacon) enjoyed very much the men's Bible studies we participated in together there.. Later, we appreciated very much the fellowship and fun we shared at Leesburg Lightning baseball games, and at their annual Fourth of July cookouts. Eventually, the hunger for additional in-depth Bible study led them to join study groups at Epiphany Celebration Church, which my Linda and I had joined a few years earlier. Jim was like a sponge, absorbing as much as he could in the Wednesday A.M. men's Bible study. On the occasions when we were able to visit with them in their home, he loved to discuss Civil War history, and other historical and political topics. Jim's humble and sincere faith, and the courage and love that flowed therefrom, were an inspiration to us and everyone who knew him. We will miss him, and we look forward to seeing him at the Great Reunion our Lord has promised to host and celebrate with all who love His Appearing. - John & Linda Renick

Jim has touched our lives in so many ways, it is hard to limit myself to just a few. I have always been impressed with his positive attitude and his spirit.

It is thanks to Jim that my mother, Jeanne, my brother Pierre and I came to the US, as he sponsored us and we arrived on June 16, 1965. This has had a huge impact on my life as, I was able to seize opportunities such as, going to college, getting a PhD from Harvard University and building a life for myself that I know I would not have had without Jim's wonderful kindness and generosity.

The other fond memory is that a few days after I arrived, he was worried that at 16 I did not have a boyfriend and had never kissed a boy. Well he took it upon himself to get me a date and to get that young man to kiss me. That demonstrates in my view the kind of person Jim was.

He cared deeply about others much more so than about himself.

I am thankful to have had Jim in my life and he will be in my heart as long as I live.

My deepest sympathies to Maria,my beloved niece, Mike her devoted husband, and my wonderful grand-nephew Peter. I am so sorry for your loss.

My deepest sympathies to Linda his caring wife of many years, please know that we share your pain and your loss.

Rest in Peace Jim. You were a wonderful human being.

Jimmy was my neighbor for many years, my heart is very sadden. He and Linda became family to us. I do have few stories about Jimmy and I on the adventures we shared. Jimmy and Linda had a dog. A lab ridge back. Lady shin (sp)......Well it was a Super Bowl Sunday the dog had been running around all day. All was great, right when the kicker started the kick off to the Super Bowl..... Lady shin comes walking out to us dragging her back leg. We look at each other and decided to go to a Vet on Sunday afternoon S Bowl already underway. We found one but he could not find anything wrong with the dog, of course we missed most of the game, the next day that dog was running and jumping normal like nothing ever happen, what are the odds his dog goes down right at kick off. Its a story he and I told often and would laugh every time... Jimmy was more than a neighbor to me.... R.I.P. my friend love you.... In coming another story from a 4th of July that still make me laugh out loud when I think of it.....See you again someday.

Linda & family,

Jim's testimony of Jesus touched my life and I thank God for knowing him and knowing the love he has for our heavenly Father! It is hard to have this day be here, but I am rejoicing that he is glorifying God in heaven right now and will forever glorify Him without pain. I will miss him dearly and know his presence will always be felt! Please know my prayers are with you all during this difficult time. ~ Chris Clark
