Karl and I remember how sweet and kind Jim was when we would get together with the Sunnyland boat club for dinner or other events. He was so kind and generous. I really wish we could have gotten to know them better. Linda Spencer & Karl Herbst
Wonderful memories of Jim and family from the Indianapolis years. Our condolences to sister Heidi. Jim & Katie Lockwood
We will always fondly remember Jim. Friendly, intelligent, witty, curious, interesting and remarkable are just a few of the many attributes that come quickly to mind about Jim. He always had a ready smile and could talk in depth on many varied subjects. His charming personality was a magnet to which many were drawn. We will miss him greatly and were honored to know him and call him friend.
With deep sadness,

Jim was a very interesting man to spend time with. Reading his obituary I learned he had a rich and meaningful life, I wish I would have spent more time to know him better. Perhaps some day we will meet again.

Dear Grandma Ann,
Jim was such a kind, funny, and cheerful man, and I feel lucky to have had him in my life. I'm so glad you got to sail the world and more with such a wonderful co-captain. Thinking of you and sending love every day.
So much love,
Sydney
I'm devastated because Jim (Uncle Jim) has been part of my entire life. He was my father's best friend, a constant in my life, my instructor at Skip Barber race school and all around stand up guy. I will miss him greatly.
