James Joseph "Jim" Murphy's Obituary
Mr. James Joseph “Jim” Murphy of Tavares, Florida passed away on Friday, November 9, 2012 at the age of 69 years. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Chester Terry and Betty Sue (Shanks) Murphy. Jim served his country in the US Marine Corp, serving two tours in Vietnam. He moved to central Florida in 1983 from Kansas City. He relocated to Washington State in 1998. Jim retired in 2000. In 2011 he returned to Florida, settling in Tavares. He was a member of the AMVets in Mount Dora. He loved to travel and enjoyed fishing and word search puzzles. He is remembered and will be dearly missed by his wife of 14 years, Susan; daughters, Christina Osborne of Orlando, FL, Terry Turner of Mount Dora, FL, Bonnie Poe of South Carolina and Misty Ware of The Villages, FL; step-daughter, Heidi Stone of Moses Lake, Washington; as well as 6 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Patrick Murphy.A memorial ceremony was held on Saturday, November 17 at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
