James "Jim" Barlow's Obituary
James “Jim” Barlow, a beloved husband, father, and friend who never met a stranger, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.
A proud graduate of Muncie Central High School, Jim devoted 30 years of hard work and dedication to General Motors before retiring in style. He also served his community proudly as a reserve police officer. In 2018, Jim and his wife Jana Jo made the move they’d always dreamed of, settling permanently in Florida to enjoy year-round sunshine, good fishing, and even better company.
Jim lived life with a grin — whether he was in a deer stand, casting a line, tearing up the dance floor or holding court at any gathering as the undisputed life of the party. His booming laugh, quick wit, and endless jokes brought light to everyone around him.
Above all, Jim was a deeply devoted husband to his wife Jana Jo and a loving, proud father to his daughter Ami. They were his whole world, and he was theirs.
Jim is survived by his wife, Jana Jo Barlow; his daughter, Ami Barlow; and a wide circle of family and friends who will miss his stories, his smile, and the way he made every day feel like a celebration.
Rest easy, Jim. The party won’t be the same without you — but we’ll keep the sunshine turned up in your honor. 🤍
