James Monroe Banks' Obituary
James Monroe Banks, 83, of Tavares, FL, passed away on January 5, 2022. He was born on November 9, 1938, in Stickney, WVA, to his parents: Hagar and Gladys Banks. James worked in the paper products manufacturing industry, served as local union President for United Steelworkers, and a United States Navy veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the Church of God of Cleveland, TN.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Nancy Banks; children: James Stuart Banks and Lisa Ann (Jack) Blais; sisters: April (Ronald) Bondurant, Sue Keller, Marilyn (Denver) Kidwell; 4 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Jamie Lynn Thomas and brother: Charles Hagar Banks.
A Celebration of Life will be held at United Faith AOG Church in Leesburg, FL on January 29th from 2-4pm. In lieu of flowers send donation to St. Jude Foundation. Online condolences can be left at www.steversonhamlinhilbish.com.
