Jack A. Wortman's Obituary
Jack A. Wortman, age 83, formerly of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016. Born in Newton Falls, Ohio, he was the son of Walter H. and Margaret E. (Airwyke) Wortman. On July 31, 1954, Jack and Elizabeth were married in Conneaut, Ohio. He had been a long time resident of Ashtabula. Jack was an employee of East Ohio Gas Company for 34 years and after retirement moved to Florida. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War.
Jack enjoyed traveling with his wife, Elizabeth, watching the NASCAR races on television, was an avid Cleveland Brown fan and loved boating on the lakes.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth of Tavares, FL; children, Elizabeth (Domenick) Ciano of Leesburg, FL, Jack Wortman (Vickie Crokie) of New Haven, OH, Robert (Gaynile) Wortman of Exeter, NH and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Water, Jr., Daniel, Annabelle, Katharyn, Bill and Betty.
Family and friends will gather for viewing on Thursday, March 10 from 7:00 – 7:30 pm in the funeral home chapel. Graveside services with military honors will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation, 214 East Washington St., Minneola, FL 34715. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
