Jack Nelson Sperry's Obituary
Jack Nelson Sperry, age 85, of Mount Dora passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2013. He was born January 2, 1928 in Tavares, FL. He was a retired optician and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was a member of the Tavares Lions Club and the Tavares Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Selma Jean Sperry of Mount Dora, FL; son, Dr. Jack Nelson Sperry, Jr. of Tavares, FL; daughter, Karen Sperry Smith of Mount Dora, FL; sister, Jean Sperry Higgenbottom of Tulsa, OK; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 21, 2013 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 11:00AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Tavares Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Rd., Tavares, FL 32778. Arrangements have been entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, 226 E. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, FL 32778, (352)343-4444. Online condolences may be left on the Tribute Wall.
