Jack Allen Rhoads' Obituary
Jack Allen Rhoads, age 83, of Tavares passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025. He was born December 12, 1941 in Springfield, OH and moved to Florida in 1996 from Springfield. He was a retired machinist for SPECO and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. After moving to Florida, he obtained his security guard license and was employed at Waterman Hospital for 11 years and on the weekends he worked as a security guard at Holiday Campground in Leesburg, this was a job that he really enjoyed. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Dora and was a member of the AMVETS. In his spare time, he loved camping and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Jean Rhoads of Tavares, FL; son, Jay Arland Rhoads and his wife, Hillary of Liberty Township, OH; daughter, Robin Lynn Smith and her husband, Daniel of Springfield, OH; brother, Jefferey Dean Rhoads and his wife, Jane of Harrison Township, MI; grandchildren, Robert Merchant and his wife, Nikki, Alexandra Rhoads, and Aidan Rhoads; great-grandchildren, Brody and Ayla; and numerous cousins and other family members. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 from 11:00AM until 1:00PM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares. The family will be having a private service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Dora Music Department.
