Jack Eley Brothers' Obituary
Jack Eley Brothers, age 72, of Tavares, passed away on February 11, 2009. He was born in Camden, SC and moved to Tavares in 1998 from Oak Park, IL. He was a retired College Professor and Missionary. As a Missionary he served in Sierra Leone, West Africa. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Dora. He is survived by his wife Ruth Brothers of 47 years; and his children, Jeb and Kathy Brothers, of Aurora, IL, Meg and Gordon Punt of Tavares, Susan and Doug Ross of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren: Ryan, Justin, Jacob, Hannah, Noah, Caleb, Jonathan, Sammy, Jack, Brett, Hope and Seth. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Maggie Brothers and sister, Nancy Rainey.Friends called on the family from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home. A Celebration Service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 16, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Dora, with Rev. Dr. Thomas Biery officiating. A Private Graveside Service will be at Tavares Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Dora, 222 W. 6th Street, Mt.
