Irene T. Lazzeri's Obituary
IRENE T. LAZZERIIrene T Lazzeri, of Tavares, passed away at Florida Hospital Waterman on Sunday, August 23, 2009. She moved to Florida from Michigan and has been a long time resident of Tavares. She presided over IRENE'S Restaurant & Lounge for over thirty years. She was a daily fixture at her namesake Lounge, with "IRENE'S" glowing in pink neon and her assigned parking spot for her "Cadillac." Irene was known for always being perfectly put together with her makeup, curly blonde hair and dress. She was a watchful business woman and friend to her patrons. Her hobbies included watching FSU and going to casinos and playing cards. She was very active in her community, including being a member of the following: VFW, AmVets, American Legion, Moose, Elk's and Lion's Club. She was a strong willed and vibrant woman that will be truly missed by the many lives she touched. Irene is survived by two children, Nick (Robin) Natoli and Gail (Ray) Gloetzner as well as her 6 grandchildren: Jason, Michael, David, Mark, Argenta and Joey. Irene was also blessed with 7 great-grandchildren: Vincent, Nicholas, Emma, Hunter, Olivia, Vaughn and Payton. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202 (800-955-4572). Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 25th from 5:00 -8:00 PM and Wednesday from 1:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. A Mass is schedule for Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church in Eustis. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Eustis.
