Hugh Gordon Russell's Obituary
Hugh Russell 82, was born in Alma, Michigan. He ran track in school and was in a chorus that competed. He went into the US Navy in 1962 and met his wife Vivien (from England) in San Francisco at the Free Methodist Church and was married there in 1964. They lived in many interesting places. They had a son Philip and a son Graham. He graduated from Roberts Wesleyan College, hoping to be a Chaplain in the Navy. He attended a Seminary in Oregon but the Lord had other plans for him. He went back into the Navy and served 20 years and retired to Orlando, Florida. He had been in several Barbershop choruses in his lifetime which he enjoyed very much. While in Florida they moved to Tavares in 2003 and was asked to volunteer as Managers for a food pantry in Eustis which was through the United Methodist Church. Hugh contracted Leukemia 2 years ago from which he never recovered.
