Howard Wesley Woodham's Obituary
Howard Wesley Woodham, Born Feb. 8, 1923 in Albion, Illinois, deceased peacefully on December 1, 2014, resident of Mount Dora, Florida. Howard grew up in Winter Haven and went on to graduate from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. Howard is a WWII veteran serving from 1943 to 1946 in the United States Air Force where he rose to the rank of Captain Navigator. In 1948, Howard and began work in the Polymers Division with the National Distillers Chemical Corporation in Champaign, Illinois. Howard married Gloria Reeder in 1954 and was the father of four children. In 1970, Howard started his own business, Plastics Service Inc. as a consultant to the plastics industry as a professional engineer. Howard successfully grew his business diversifying internationally over the past 44 years.
Howard lived a full life and was fully functional for his nearly 92 years, driving to visit family and friends and conducting business internationally. Howard will be remembered by his family and friends as a father, for his persistence as an international business man, a thoughtful friend and colleague, a lifelong student of many subjects including poetry and astronomy and was considered a gentleman by many.
Howard is survived by his ex-wife and good friend Gloria Woodham, his daughter Christine Kingery with her daughter Shannon; his son Robert with his sons Christopher and Jason; his son David with his wife Caroline and their daughter Charlotte; and his son Richard with his wife Carolyn and their daughter Moriah, and five great-grandchildren.
