Howard H. Murphy's Obituary
Mr. Howard H. "Red" Murphy, of Fruitland Park, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at the age of 86 years. He was born in Leck, Virginia to William J. and Florence R. (Rose) Murphy. Red served his country in the US Navy in World War II. He moved to Fruitland Park from Bartow, Florida in 1979. Red was a retired auto body and fender man. He was an avid Golfer and fisherman. He is remembered by his wife of 62 years, Agnes; daughters, Della (Dale) Stewart of Fruitland Park and Rhonda ( Michael) Soeder of Lakeland, FL; sisters, Myrtle May of Wise, Virginia, Adelle Sturgill and Dandridge, Tennessee and Gay Massie of Coeburn, Virginia as well as 1 grandson, Justin Michael Soeder. Red was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Virgil Murphy and Kedrick Murphy and sisters, Cloia Adkins and Gladys Faye Stallard. Family and friends gathered for a viewing on Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at the funeral home. A funeral ceremony was held on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Burial followed at Lakeside Memory Gardens in Eustis.
