Howard Michael Brown's Obituary
Howard M. Brown, age 54, of Leesburg, FL passed on Friday, August 15, 2014 at Florida Hospital in Orlando after a battle with esophageal cancer. He was born October 22, 1959 in Haverhill, MA, the son of Howard and Doris Brown. Mike, as most people knew him, spent his childhood on the beaches of Plum Island, MA and attended Whittier Technical High School where he graduated in 1977. He began his adult life residing in Milton, NH where he raised his three children. In 1990, he began working for Strafford County and retired after 20 years from his position as the maintenance director of Riverside Rest Home and County Jail. In 2010, he relocated to Florida with his wife, Pamela to enjoy the warm weather and peaceful beaches. Mike enjoyed fishing, boating, and, most of all, spending time with his family. He was very involved in his grandchildren's lives and they could always put a smile on his face. Mike was also known as an accomplished carpenter and started a successful handyman business after he remodeled his Florida home. Mike is survived by his wife of nine years, Pamela Brown; mother, Doris Brown of Plum Island, MA; three children, Joseph Brown and his wife Sara of Dover, NH, Ashley Bragdon and her husband Michael of Tavares, FL, and Matthew Brown of Rochester, NH; three grandchildren, James, Lia, and Katherine; and two sisters, Cindy Patton of Amesbury, MA and Cheri McCoy of Plum Island, MA. He was predeceased by his father, Howard Brown in 1989. A celebration of life will be held from 4-7pm at the American Legion, 94 Eastern Ave, Rochester, NH on August 28, 2014. The family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society to aid in cancer research. Arrangements have been entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, 226 E. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, FL 32778, (352)343-4444. Online condolences may be left on the Tribute Wall.
