Birth date: May 6, 1957 Death date: Jan 8, 2025
Howard Michael "Pop" Beshears, 67, of Tavares, FL, entered the presence of the Lord on January 8, 2025. He was born on May 6, 1957, in Birmingham, AL, to his parents: Howard Lee and Ruth (Brooks) Beshears. Mike worked as an Inform Read Obituary
The Beshears were my second family...when Mike (Bubba) started @ THS we had an open house and I was a guide to show the "freshmen" around so they could see where their classrooms etc located in the school. Mike walked up and told me I was going to be his "Sis". And that is the start or beginning of a renewed friendship that last many many years. Howard and Ruth treated me like a daughter and I think I rode to all the basketball games with them since both Mike and Mitch both played for the school. People who didn't know the story why I was called Sis really thought I was his (their) sister.
At one of the football games the play was right in front of me -Mike missed his person he was suppose to cover and Me (in the band/drum) began hitting my drum yelling at him for missing the person. The "new girl at school" who he had a date with after the game was sitting in front of the band. She asked someone there why I was yelling and hitting my drum at him. She told not to mess with me because I was "his sister". She believed them and for the longest time thought I was the sister. We had a good laugh when she found that I wasn't.
When Mike went into the service we wrote back and forth. He came home and met my husband the first time and told me "he'll do" and both laughed. (We actually got married on his birthday in 78.) We loss touch when he moved to Florida but I would here about him from Mitch and Mama Ruth and see him when he was here. And call him when my family and I were in Orlando. The last time I saw him was several years ago when he was up and the grands with him. He was on cloud 9 introducing me to them. He was a proud Pops.
My thoughts and prayers are with all the family. My heart is broken a little more because I don't have either of my "Bubbas) now. But memories help with sadness and knowing the person Howard Michael Beshears was.
I grew up with Mike. Such a nice guy & great family. My heart breaks for all of you in your loss. May God comfort you all. Love & prayers.
