Horace C. Kilgore Sr.'s Obituary
Horace Chapman Kilgore, Sr., 88, passed away on Feb. 25, 2017. He served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard for 37 years, retiring as an E-7 Sergeant and he served in the Lake County Schools for 31 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Tavares, and was a long-time Florida Gator football fan. He was predeceased by his wife Peggy, brothers Walter, Jim and Howard, sister Margaret and grandson Justin. He is survived by his daughter Gloria, son Chappy (Dawn), stepson Jimmy, stepdaughter Rebecca, grandchildren Samantha, Marylee and Ashley, step-grandchildren Lauren and Daniel, and several great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 9:30AM until 10:30AM at the First United Methodist Church, Tavares. A Funeral Service will follow at the church at 10:30AM. Interment with Military Honors will take place at Tavares Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, 226 E.
