What a remarkable man: gifted, funny, driven, inspiring. Not only did I have the pleasure of being one of his students, but I always became one of his Madison Height colleagues. When Henry obtained the National Endowment for the Humanities grant for MHHS, he also scored me a husband. Thank You Hank for all you have meant to so many of us at MHHS. Rest in Peace dear friend. We were so saddened to hear of Hank's passing but find comfort that he is in the hands of the good Lord. I will truly miss my talks with Hank, we talked of everything-politics, books, history, all was great conversation for us! A great guy that Mr. Hank and I am so blessed to have known him! Melanie and I are so very saddened at Henry's passing. Henry placed a great deal of confidence in me when he chose me to fill a vacancy at Madison Heights in 1973, and I have always appreciated that support. He was a fantastic mentor, an outstanding educator, and a great friend. I know he touched many other lives as profoundly as mine. Our condolences to Barbara and the family.

I have known Barbara since college days and consider her to be a dear friend. We were so thankful that Hank and Barbara found each other and had such a good long life together. His talents and intellect will surely be missed.
I will miss Hank! He and Barbara were so very warm and welcoming to me. He was a wonderful cook and their home was a place of refuge for me on several occasions. Rest In Peace, dear Hank.
