Helen J. Dunican's Obituary
Mrs. Helen Dunican of Scottish Highlands, Leesburg, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the age of 94 years. She was born in New York City. Helen worked as a librarian and was an elected official of the Library Board of Trustees in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. After her retirement, she moved to Leesburg in 1989 from Massachusetts. Helen was in charge of the library at Scottish Highlands for many years. She was also involved in the New Comers Club and the Drama Club at Scottish Highlands. Helen was an avid Bridge player, loved gardening and needle work. She was also an English horseback rider years ago. Helen was a devoted Catholic and was a member of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church in Eustis, FL. She is remembered by her son, Michael G. Dunican of Lake Stevens, Washington; daughter, Theresa D. Wanbaugh of Fairfax, Virginia and two grandchildren, Mary Christine Lind of Marysville, Washington and Patrick Michael Dunican of Lake Stevens, WA. Helen was preceded in death in 2003 by her husband of 61 years, Gerard. The family received friends on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home. A Mass was held at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church in Eustis on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 12 Noon. Burial followed at GreenwoodCemetery, Eustis.
