Helen K. Ball's Obituary
Helen K. Ball, 97 years young, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, October 27, 2020. Helen was born on August 7, 1923, in Watertown, Massachusetts to Martin and Jane Kelly. She was fondly remembered as one of the four "Kelly Girls" or daughters from Martin and Jane. She and her husband, Harold, relocated to the Tavares area in 1990 from Selbyville, Delaware and both were members of St. Mary's of the Lakes Catholic Church. A fierce competitor and avid player of Scrabble, Helen would give her son, Mike, a run for his money at the game; challenging him to spellings and definitions and kept a running tally as to whom won the last game.
Helen is survived by her children; Michael J. Ball and wife Mary Ann of Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania and Janet Martinez and husband Ernie of Longwood, Florida, ten grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and numerous loved nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harold W. Ball who passed in 2008, daughter Carol Anne Ball, who passed in 1944 and her sisters; Mary Hearon, Patricia Reynolds and Muriel Mullins
A gathering of family and friends of Helen is scheduled for Saturday, October 31st from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Nativity Catholic Church, 3255 N. Ronald Regan Blvd., Longwood, Florida 32750. A Mass of Christian Burial Service in Helen's honor will immediately follow her gathering at Nativity, beginning at 12:00 PM with Father David Scotchie officiating. Her place of rest will be with her beloved husband Harold, at Florida National Cemetery in private.
