Hazel M. Wintersdorf's Obituary
Hazel M. Wintersdorf of Tavares passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014 at the age of 81 years. She was born on the Florida panhandle in Point Washington. She moved to Leesburg in 1945 and then to Tavares in 1956. Hazel was a member of the Junior Women’s Club in Tavares and attended in the Elks Club with her husband, William. She was an avid Florida Gators fan. She enjoyed reading, playing Bridge and Poker. Hazel was also a great cook. She is remembered and will be dearly missed by her husband of 58 years, Willie; son, Bill Wintersdorf and his wife, Terri of Tavares; son, Jason Edgar Wintersdorf and his wife, Lori of Eustis; daughter, Mary Lynn Smith and her husband, Corky of Tavares; sisters, Mary Rempe of DeBary, FL, Rachel (Leo) Poulimenous of Mentone, AL and Nita Koss of Leesburg; grandchildren, Eric (Lindsey) Cassell of Jacksonville, FL, Danielle (Shane) Perry of Ocala, FL, Joshua Wintersdorf of Eustis, Jessica Wintersdorf of Tavares, Sarah Wintersdorf of Leesburg and Matthew Edgar Wintersdorf of Eustis; and great grandchildren, Kaley Kennedy, Jackson Perry and Dexter Hall. Friends and family are invited to gather on Friday, August 1 from 10:30 – 11:00 am. A memorial ceremony will start at 11:00 am, all in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Rd., Tavares, FL 32778, www.cshospice.org Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
