Gwendolyn Monnius' Obituary
Gwendolyn P. Monnius passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 8th, 2021 at the age of 88. She was born and raised in Louisville, Ky where she went on to study and earn her master’s degree in English. She traveled to Germany to teach where she met and fell in love with her future husband Fred. They moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana where they had 4 children, Mark, Scott, Lori and Karen. Fred and Gwen provided a loving and happy home in Sharon, Pennsylvania where they raised their children. She loved to read and take care of her family. She spent countless hours sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Her homemade crafts were generously donated to local children’s hospitals over the years. She truly was a kind soul. She and Fred loved to travel and visited numerous destinations around the world. They settled in central Florida after retirement and led a quiet and comfortable life. Gwen was a gracious, loving, beautiful person and she is missed terribly. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, her 4 children, 8 wonderful grandchildren and 10 amazing great-grandchildren.
A private celebration of her life will be held at Cave Hill Cemetery in her hometown of Louisville, KY.
