To Ruth, Lori and Bruce,
Your mother and I go back in our friendship many years, both in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, and also Van Buren High School. With my maiden name being “Heim” and your moms “Heinking” we sat alphabetically every morning in home room.
Your parents,Jim and Grace were already dating steadily while she was in HS, and attended all Luther League events together! They were quite the couple…,energetic, friendly and complimented each other.
We also crossed paths when our children were growing up, especially during their .Sunday School days as our girls were close in age.
We lost touch when they moved up to .Connecticut but kept updated through a mutual friend, Ruth Beach.
Then when I retired and moved to Florida, we resumed our friendship and would attend concerts, shows, community presentations and luncheons numerous times during the years and met each other frequently.
Before Jim died, I moved further south in Florida to be nearer to my sister and it was again …long distance catch-ups!,
After Jim passed away, we no longer spoke that regularly but through Lori, their daughter, I would send regards and get updates on Graces activities as she was not a frequent computer user or fond of “ picking up the phone” to chat.
So it is with a heavy heart that I say a final “Good bye” to my long time friend Grace.
God needed another angel, he called Grace, and Jim was waiting in heaven so they are again together.
Goodbye my friend and my sincerest condolences to all the family! It is never easy when we lose someone we love and .Grace was loved but leaves behind a beautiful family and loving memories!
Love, Loraine Griffith💔
