Gordon Craig Warner Jr.'s Obituary
Gordon Craig "Skeeter" Warner, Jr., age 83, passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, January 18, 2018. He was born June 7, 1934 in Chicago. He was a veteran, having served in the navy 1951-1955. Gordon moved to Florida with his family in 1961 where he continued being an award-winning life insurance agent. In 1969, he opened his own real estate office and became a successful broker for three decades.
He was a dedicated Freemason for 60 years and was involved with the Scottish Rite and Bahia Shrine for over 50 years. Among his passions of life were history, genealogy, University of Florida Gators, Chicago Blackhawks, and travel. Gordon visited such places as China, Russia, Egypt, South American, and Europe, his favorite city being London. As an RV'er, he traveled extensively throughout the United States, including Alaska, as well as Canada.
He was predeceased by his parents, Alberta (nee Perkins) and Gordon C. Warner, Sr, and two wives. He is survived by his loving wife Carole of Tavares. Gordon is also survived by his children, Scott, Orlando; Cheryl (Ted), Orlando; Gordon III, Kissimmeee; Christine, Kissimmee; and Jodi (Don), Vermont; and step-children Bill, Orlando; Laura (Ty), Texas, and Rebecca (Steve), Massachusetts.
Gordon was blessed to have five grandchildren: Brian and Beth, Orlando; Jennifer (Mike), Minnesota; Schuyler, Vermont; and Christopher (Samantha), Vermont. His step grandchildren include Marin and Christian; Texas; Joshua and Ryan, Massachusetts. Gordon also had five great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by cousins in Canada; Chicago (Judy, Don, and Eugene); and New Mexico (Jean); his step-mother Eleanor and step-siblings Lee, Shirley and Brenda, Georgia. Services have been entrusted to Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on the tribute wall.
