Gloria Jean Postell's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Gloria Jean Postell
Gloria Jean Postell passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the age of 80.
She was born on February 15, 1946, in Dalton, Georgia, where her life began—a life that would come to be defined by deep faith, enduring love, and devotion to family. She later moved to Florida with her husband and children, where she built a home filled with warmth, care, and unwavering support.
Gloria was a woman of strong faith who loved the Lord and lived her life guided by that faith. It shaped the way she loved others, the way she gave, and the way she faced life with grace and strength.
In 1971, she married the love of her life, Donald Postell, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in love and commitment. Together, they built a family that became her greatest joy and proudest legacy.
Gloria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her beloved husband, Donald Postell; her children, James (aka Eddie) Postell, Karen (Ronnie) Wilson, Teresa Postell, Sandra (Jack) Neal, and Kimberly (Bill) Passio; and her cherished grandchildren, Eric Fowler, Adam Chastain, James Levidiotis, Brittany Coburt, Kenny Levidiotis, Michael Levidiotis, Kirra Baker, Zachary Showers, Emily Postell, Hunter Showers, Kevin Roberson, Olivia Baker, and Joshua Postell. She also leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren who will carry forward her love and legacy.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Grace and J.B. Summey; her sister, Diane Cannon; and her granddaughter, Bridget Fowler.
Gloria will be remembered for her kind heart, her steadfast faith, and the love she gave so freely to her family. Her life was a testament to devotion—to her husband, her children, and to God. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the many lives she touched and in the family she so dearly loved.
Today, we celebrate not only her life, but the legacy of love and faith she leaves behind.
The family invites friends to gather Thursday April 30, 2026, for visitation starting at 1:00pm with services at 2:00pm at Steverson Hamlin Hilbish Funeral Directors. 226 E Burleigh Blvd. Tavares, Florida.
