Gladys H. Schoedinger's Obituary
Gladys Harriet Hassall Schoedinger, age 94, of Leesburg, Florida passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, August 16th, 2014 at her home in Lake Port Square. She was born on November 23, 1919 in Montreal, Canada and moved to the United States in 1953. She married the late Captain Vernon F. Schoedinger, a CPA and WWII Air Force veteran. They lived in Miami, Florida and after retirement moved to Waterwood Estates, Yalaha, Florida where they were avid golfers and members of Mission Inn Country Club. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and also an artist who received numerous awards for her work. She is survived by her sons, Steven R. Schoedinger and Vernon Bruce Schoedinger; her niece, Carol Etherington; her nephew, John Hassall, and nephews, Alan Makin and Jay Makin as well as their children and grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 3:30PM at Lake Port Square Town Hall, 800 Lake Port Boulevard, Leesburg, Florida. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida with her husband at a later date.
