Gilbert Lopez's Obituary
Gilbert Lopez of Tavares, Florida passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the age of 86 years. He was born in Manhattan, New York City. Gil proudly served his country in the US Army, serving in the Korean War as a medic. After the service he went to work for Eastern Airlines. He retired after 33 years as a flight attendant. He moved to central Florida from Bal Harbor, Florida in 1991. Gil was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Anna Lopez. He is remembered and will be dearly missed by his daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Paul Isgar of Lake Mary, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Pedro Lizardi of Tavares; daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Andrew Reid of Naples, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Debi and Michael Rhoads of Bergenfield, New Jersey; brothers, Frank (Dennis) Lopez of Puerto Rico and Alfonso (Olga) Lopez of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, Jake, Gabbi, Anthony, Amanda, Nellie, Nikki, Matt, AJ, and Emily; 2 great grandchildren, Sofia and Lucas; and one great grandchild arriving soon, Mckenzie.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, January 4 from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm. A memorial ceremony will start at 3:00 pm, all in the funeral home chapel.
