Gertrude Krafft Ritchie's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Gertrude Anne Krafft Ritchie. Gertrude (Gert "Trudy") Ritchie, age 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2025, surrounded by family in Tavares, Florida. Trudy was born to Frederick and Mary Krafft in Mt Kisco, New York on May 17, 1937 and lived a life filled with kindness, faith, and unwavering love for her family. Trudy was raised in the Catholic church and remained devout throughout her life. As a young girl, Trudy loved her time in ballet school as well as going into New York City to see shows. After graduating high school and secretarial school, Trudy worked in a law office, married and started her family where, she was devoted to being a full-time homemaker. In later years, Trudy became an Avon Representative, a Realtor and worked retail at Burdines and JC Penney's. Trudy's greatest passion was to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed socializing whenever possible; Trudy was a Brownie troop leader, attended exercise classes, played Bridge and was a member of her community's Garden Club and Satellites. Trudy was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother to four children, a loving grandmother and great grandmother. Her husband of 58 years, David A. Ritchie, preceded her in death in April of 2014. Dave and Trudy retired in Mt Dora where they loved and called home for 22 years. Trudy is survived by her children: Bruce (Debbie), Sharon (Craig), Debra (Steve), and Michael (Becky) along with 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Trudy is also survived by her brother Frederick Krafft (Nadine) Her memorial will be October 25th, 2025, with viewing from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm immediately followed by her service, then internment at Tavares Cemetery.
