George Ross Gorsuch's Obituary
Mr. George Ross Gorsuch, of Tavares, Florida, passed away on Saturday, October 22nd, 2011 at the age of 76 years. He was born in Gahanna, Ohio to Robert Ross and Margaret Gorsuch. Ross served in the US Army National Guard. He was a retired part owner/operator of Mid-Ohio Air Conditioning. After his retirement, he and his wife, Jan, moved to Tavares from Columbus, Ohio in 1998. Ross was a member of St. Philip Lutheran Church in Mount Dora. He loved trap shooting, was a lifetime member of the NRA, was a member of the Ohio Gun Collectors Association and the Eustis Gun Club in Florida. He was a dedicated Mason and Shriner and was a member of the Shrine Club in Tavares. Ross coached little league and volunteered with the Girl Scouts in Ohio, was a handyman and enjoyed woodworking and making crafts. He collected all kinds of things and proudly displayed them in his barn. Most of all, he was known for his great sense of humor and always enjoyed a good practical joke. Ross will be remembered and missed dearly by his wife of 57 years, Janice; children, Robert (JoAnna) Gorsuch, Richard Gorsuch and Crystal (Terry) Garrett, all of Columbus, Ohio; brothers, Russell (Yun) Gorsuch of New Albany, Ohio and Roger (Eliza) Gorsuch of Centerberg, Ohio; grandchildren, Joshua Garrett, Evan (Natashia) Garrett, Laura Gorsuch and Zachery Gorsuch; as well as 4 great grandchildren and his beloved labs, Chance and Sootie. A special thanks to the "Dirt Road Gang" and Sonnie and Lois. A memorial ceremony was held on Friday, October 28, 2011 at 1:00PM at the family residence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Shriners Hospital for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607. Arrangements were entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, Tavares, FL. Condolences may be left for the family by signing the guestbook below.
