George P. Marks' Obituary
George P. Marks of Tavares passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2014. He celebrated his 95th birthday on July 10th. He was born in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. George proudly served his country in the US Army in World War II. He had many talents. George grew up on a farm. He sold cattle as a young man. He built and remodeled homes. He also owned and operated a sod farm in Waukesha, Wisconsin. George liked clocks and would often go to clock shows. He was very good at repairing clocks as well. He also enjoyed fishing. George traveled back and forth from Wisconsin to Florida for many years. He settled in Tavares in Tiki Village 15 years ago. He moved to Lake Frances Estates in Tavares 4 years ago. George was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister. He is remembered and will be missed by several nieces and nephews, as well as his many friends at Tiki Village and Lake Frances Estates. Family and friends are invited to gather for viewing on Saturday, August 2 from 10:00 – 11:00 am, with a funeral ceremony starting at 11:00 am, all in the funeral home chapel. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
